---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If I drive to you, can I leave my car when I collect my Motorhome?
Yes, you are free to leave your car parked inside of our secure unit but we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage whilst it is parked.
When can I collect the motorhome?
For weekly hires collection is between 3.00pm and 5.00pm on the Saturday afternoon. For weekend hires collection is between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on Friday afternoon. You can always call us a few days before and if your vehicle isn't on hire you may be able to come earlier in the day.
When do I have to return the Motorhome?
For weekly hires, returns need to be between 9.00am and 10.30am on the Saturday. For weekend hires returns need to be between 10.00am and 12.00pm on the Monday. Please try and be punctual so that we can make sure the vehicle is fully prepared for the next group to enjoy their holiday.
How long should I allow for the handover at the beginning of my holiday?
Please allow about an hour to sort out the paperwork and allow us to run through all the features of the motorhome with you. The industrial estate where we are based is very quiet and is ideal to practice a few maneouvres and get to grips with how the motorhome handles.
Can you collect me from a Railway Station or Airport?
We do provide a full transfer service in our luxury mini-bus's. Please see the 'Transfers' section for full details.
If I'm travelling to you from abroad can I leave my suitcases with you when I've unpacked?
We are more than happy to store your suitcases in our storage unit.
Can I smoke in the motorhome?
Sorry but we have a strict NO SMOKING policy. Anyone found to have been smoking within the motorhome will forfit their deposit.
Can I bring animals on holiday with me?
Sorry, but due to some people having alergies to animals, we cannot allow any pets to be taken in our motorhomes.
How does the insurance work?
Our motorhomes carry comprehensive motor insurance for the UK mainland which can be extended to western Europe, this is to cover damage to the vehicle or to third parties. If there is damage to the motorhome and the accident was your fault, your liability is the first £500, in the case of damage caused due to the third party we will retain the excess until it is agreed it is the other parties fault (unfortunatley many people say it wasn't their fault and it turns out to be their responsibility once the facts are checked). For overhead damage (eg from trees) you are liable for the first £750. For write off or theft you are liable for the first £750. Please note acts of negligence or abuse are completely your responsibility.
Why do I have to pay a £500 damage deposit?
This is the insurance excess during the hire and is fully returnable on completion of your holiday as long as the motorhome is returned undamaged, reasonably clean with the waste and toilet empty.
How do I book a motorhome rental?
You can register your interest online and one of our rental assistants will contact you, or you can phone our office for further information and to check availability. Rental is charged by the week and upon booking you will need to pay a non-refundable booking deposit of £200.00 per week. The full balance will need to be paid 6 weeks before collection.
As insurance security you will be asked to leave a refundable security deposit of £500.00 upon collection. This acts as an insurance excess during your hire, and will be refunded provided that the vehicle is returned clean and undamaged as described in our terms and conditions. In the event of an insurance claim the cost of the damage or claim will be deducted from your deposit.
How long am I able to rent a motor home for?
Our peak season rentals are for 7 or 14 nights (special deals available for longer durations - contact us for details). During mid and low season we can cater for shorter breaks.
When and where can I collect the motorhome?
Our motorhomes are available for hire all year round. We recommend you book well in advance, particularly during busy periods.
The motorhomes are available for collection at our depot on the Ferndown Industrial Estate between 14.30 and 17.00. Weekly rentals start on Fridays or Saturdays subject to availability.
It must be returned between 08.30 and 11.00 at the end of the hire period. This ensures the motorhome is available for the next hire.
Failing to return the motorhome will incur a charge - the daily hire rate or part thereof. There are no refunds for early return.
Where can the motorhome be driven?
Our motorhomes can be driven in the UK and Europe. When in Europe the motorhomes will require extra insurance cover.
Who can drive a motor home ?
Anyone between the ages of 25-70 who has held the required license, for at least 2 years, and has current driving experience can drive our motorhomes.
Please check with our rental assistants regarding any driving convictions/penalty points that you may have.
What are the dimensions of the motor home?
Swift Bolero 680FB Overall Length: 7.04m Overall Width: 2.35m Overall Height: 2.79m
Do all the seats have seatbelts ? All our Swift motorhomes have been accredited full 'European Whole Vehicle Type Approval' and this is the only UK manufacturer to have achieved this high standard.
The majority of our vehicles are no more than 12 months old and are fitted with the latest safety equipment, including seatbelts on all designated passenger seats.
We provide a range of extra safety equipment as a part of our on board inventory such as a first aid kit, fire blanket, high visibility vest and warning triangle. See our inventory for a full list of equipment included.
Do not over load the vehicle as this is an offence and also dangerous. Make sure that anything loaded is evenly balanced.
Who is allowed to drive the motorhome and are they easy to drive ?
Even if you have never driven a motorhome before do not worry! Our new motorhomes are easy to drive. Make the most of the comfortable, high driving position, build your confidence by driving steadily and look out for low hanging branches!
All of our motor homes combine the latest technologies with comfort and practical design. They have been fitted with easy to use satellite navigation systems to make your holiday pleasurable and hassle free!
Parking Due to the size of our motorhomes when parking you need to ensure that you have enough space around you to manoeuvre the vehicle easily. Make use of the well placed mirrors and try to avoid busy areas until you become more proficient.
Supermarket car parks are often ideal as they are large and usually in a convenient location - remember that motorhomes cannot be parked in multi-story car parks and are generally not allowed to remain in car parks over night.
What is provided, what should I take? We provide a range of crockery, cutlery and utensils for you to use along with a range of safety equipment. You will need to provide your own bedding such as pillows and sleeping bags, towels, washing up liquid and extra toilet rolls! Make sure you have taken out travel insurance to cover you in the event that you lose or damage any of your personal possessions.
Using the on board facilities
How does the water system work ?
The motorhomes are fitted with an onboard water tank, which will be full upon collection. This will last for around 2-3 days but the easily visible gauges on board will allow you to see how much water is left and when the tank needs refilling. You will be able to fill up at petrol stations and camp sites. There is also a grey water tank and this will need to be emptied when you fill up with fresh water.
How does the toilet and shower work
The cassette toilet has an electric flush and the chemicals required to keep it clean and fresh are provided. The toilet has a separate cartridge which needs to be emptied into an appropriate disposal point which you will find on campsites. Please empty and clean the toilet before return. Failure to do so will result in a charge of £50.00
The shower rooms in our motorhomes are larger than average and as well as the cassette toilet, sink and shower contain a useful storage locker and have stylish chrome fittings.
Refrigerator
All of our motorhomes are fitted with a refrigerator in the kitchen area. If the engine is off for long periods or you are not plugged into the mains power at a campsite, turn the refrigerator off. The high level of insulation will keep food cold for approximately 2-3 hours and the battery/gas will not run down.
Camping and choosing pitches
Motorhomes are not able to park overnight on the roadside in most areas of Europe. Therefore it is best to pre-book a campsite pitch before you leave, particularly at busy times.
Where possible, hard standing pitches are the most desirable as they make parking easy. Check the facilities available with the campsite, and whether there is mains power. Also remember to ask what facilities are close to your pitch, such as a children's play area.
Planning your holiday
It is best to plan your route before you leave and as all of our motorhomes have satellite navigation finding your destinations will be made easy! Where possible book campsites in advance and make sure they have the practical facilities you require, such as power, water and waste disposal facilities. Look at our useful links which may help you plan your journey and choose campsites.
The inventory will be checked with you before you leave, remember to take with you any extras you may require. Keep important documents such as passports and insurance details in a safe and convenient place.
When travelling in Europe you will pass through road tolls, so ensure that you have enough change with you.
